Columbia SC--South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Carol Fowler today released the following statement on the Senate District 25 special election results:
"No matter their eventual candidate, neither Republican can match Bill Clyburn's record of leadership. Rep. Clyburn has served his constituents for 12 years in the State House. A former school principal, he has consistently achieved bi-partisan support for important education programs and policies. He is the best choice by far for Aiken, Edgefield, McCormick and Saluda County citizens to replace Tommy Moore in the state senate."
